LTW (http://www.louderthanwords.us), short for
Actions Speak Louder Than Words, is a consortium of
custom shops from around the country who specialize in
the 1911 pistol. We collaborate 2-3 times a year on a
custom gun, raffle it off, and donate the proceeds to
a selected charity.
We are proud to announce that our primary project
for 2009 will be for the benefit of AmericanSnipers.org!
The prize package consists of much more than a
custom pistol, but let's start with that. The pistol
was custom-built very much to a sniper theme, as if it
were going to be employed on the front lines by one of
AmericanSnipers.org's own. The pistol was based on a
Wilson Combat 1911 platform, a superb, quality
foundation for any custom pistol. Wilson Combat
graciously provided a frame, slide barrel, and five
Tactical Elite magazines for this year's effort.
The pistol was custom built by three of the
nation’s finest custom 1911 craftsmen: Chuck Rogers
of
Rogers
Precision, John Harrison of
Harrison
Design, and Ted Yost of Heirloom Precision.
Each craftsman did not just "add special
touches", but effected real, duty-oriented
modifications to ensure perfect reliability, enhanced
handling and durability, and accuracy.

In addition, the prize package currently includes
custom leather from John Ralston of 5 Shot Leather,
fine knives from Al Mar, binoculars from Steiner,
nylon gear from Eagle Industries,
Black Hills
ammunition and Surefire flashlights.

we near the raffle date, stay tuned.
The
Winning Ticket will be drawn at the 138th NRA Annual
meeting on May 17th 2009 at the Phoenix Convention
Center, Phoenix, Arizona.
